When selecting a wines as newbie can prove to be a daunting task. You might ask friends, look on the internet, go out for wine tasting or ask your local wine retailer. But sadly you'll never know what your getting until you buy it.

What is you buy can be the difference in the evening your looking to prepare. And trust if you pick the wrong wine it can ruin your whole evenings experience.

So when considering wine keep these three things in mind origin, taste and use.

Origin - Different parts of the world are know for their wines. And those wine come from Germany, France, Italy and California to name a few.

Taste - Like everything in the world wine can be an acquired taste but if you know a little about the types of wine you'll know that a Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied and gripping wine when young. Sauvignon Blanc's are generally lighter wines with a herbal character. A grape can add or detract from the taste if not properly cared for.

Use - When preparing meals it might be helpful to know that Zinfandels go best with pizzas, grilled foods and barbecued meats. Pinot Noir's are an excellent complement to grilled salon, chicken and lamb. Chardonnay, a dry but citrus filled wine can be paired with fish and chicken because of its wide body flavor. So having the taste in mind helps how it's used.

So next time your at the wines store keep these three things in mind.
