So, you think your marriage is doomed. Your spouse just isn't attracted to you anymore, and whenever you two get down to talking, there's always some quarreling in the end. It's just not happening - you're facing a divorce. But you don't want to go down without a fight - you didn't sign the marriage papers for nothing, and you ARE going to do whatever you can to save your marriage. Here is my personal experience about the subject - read this very carefully now.

My story isn't all that different from all the other failing marriages. Similarly, my husband had lost interest in me and a divorce was coming any moment. I was desperate to do anything to stop this divorce from happening, but I couldn't think of anything else than begging him: "Please, do not do this -  I love you so much, George! Please don't end this marriage - I will do anything for you!"

And that didn't help. Because he was fed up with me, and any further pressure I applied made him only more fed up with me. So, how can you turn the odds to your favor in such a hopeless situation?

The key is to realize that saving your marriage is counter-intuitive. This doesn't mean that you should apply never-before-seen techniques or anything. This merely means that your intuitions are guiding you wrongly when you are desperate trying to save your marriage. Your emotions are telling you to go and beg your spouse right now, whereas it's the worst thing you can do.

So, to save your marriage, you have to learn to go against the flow and NOT do what your emotions are telling you to. You are desperate right now, just like I was. This makes you very vulnerable to your own emotions which are running rampant in your mind, replacing your rationality wherever they can. This means that to save a marriage, you have to learn to not give into your emotions. The best thing in such a situation is having a plan you can stick to.
