Are you one of the 60 million Americans suffering from high blood pressure or hypertension? If you are, then you probably already know that this condition can cause heart attacks, heart failure, blindness, kidney failure and a host of other serious ailment if left untreated. It is a real threat to life.

You also probably know that the treatment can be pretty miserable as well. High blood pressure medication can come with some pretty serious side effects and it will never "cure" the problem, it will simply "control" the condition. And you know you are going to be on these drugs for life.

Take a minute and imagine what it would be like without high blood pressure. Imagine how you would feel waking up and not worrying about a life threatening condition being part of your life. No more drugs. No more feeling tired all the time. No more worrying about passing out climbing stairs or even just getting out of your chair too fast.

There's actually a name for it, the Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension or DASH. The American Heart Association highly endorses this program.

Once you start eating the right fuel then it's time to burn some of it off. Mild aerobic exercise like walking or cycling is the absolutely fastest way to lower blood pressure and also helps to lower stress. Thirty minutes a day will work wonders.

Speaking of stress, I'm sure you know that plays a big part in higher blood pressure. Sleep is the number one way to reduce the effects of stress and most of us have a hard time getting six hours a night. But think about it for a second. If we eat healthier and are not consuming the tons of sugar that is in a lot of processed foods; and if we are getting some exercise each day, how much easier will it be to get a full night's sleep?

You can lower your blood pressure naturally. If you put a plan together and really work it for 30 days you can easily lower your pressure by 20 points. Really think about this for a minute. What would that mean? I think you'll agree that it means that you are taking control of your body and you are not going to let a reversible condition cause any more pain and grief in your life.
