How to Promote Ebooks

Many people set out to write ebooks with the aim of making money. But you can be a great writer, but you will not sell any copies if you do not know how to promote ebooks.

Selling your work online is far different to selling in a traditional venue such as a book store.

In a book store, your work is sitting on the shelf ready to be chosen by who ever walks in the store, your main obstacle is that yours it not the only book. It most likely is one of hundreds if not thousands of books the store has in stock.

Online your work is most likely the only book on your site to choose from, so the chance of being put down to be replaced by another persons work is non existent unless they leave your site of course. But the main problem is traffic. Your site is not on a high street or in a mall where people can randomly walk in.

Your site has to be found by promotion.

Promoting ebooks online is a skill not easily learned, but not as hard or expensive as gaining real world advertising space.

Here I will list a few ideas on how to promote ebooks.

Forums.

Join community forums that are based around your topic, get involved, leave your back link to your ebook.

Pay per click.

Many companies have now got into the realm of pay per click. Get your ebook in front of as many people as you can afford. This can be expensive but can also produce excellent returns for the right ebook.

Article marketing.

Write articles related to your ebook topic. Back link to your web page.

Recruit affiliates.

Join an affiliate network and pay commission to other people that sell your ebook for you. They will do the promotion for you and produce sales while you work on your next best selling ebook.
