How to Mod Your Xbox

Most of the people that own the Xbox 360, at one point owned an original Xbox. The few of us that didn't trade probably decided that it is more beneficial to keep it, as some of the games were not backwards compatible. Now that the majority of the games have become backwards compatible, what oh what do we do with our Xbox? Within this article, I will teach you how to mod your Xbox with emulators

Use the system as your virtual console, only not pay for that nostalgic feeling we get every time we see Super Mario 3. If you already have a modded Xbox than good for you. I have one and I had a hard time transferring files into my Xbox as well as the emulators themselves. I am going to provide both a walk through and a download with all the emulators in them for the Xbox. I am sure roms won't be a problem, but remember only download them if you already "own" the game.

I would like to mention that I am using Avalaunch as my custom firmware and that anything mentioned here has been done on it.

The easiest way to transfer is using a router and a program called flashfxp. Connect the Xbox to your router using an Ethernet cable. Now click the little button that looks like a thunder bolt.

Next, select quick connect, and you will be prompted to a screen where you have to enter the URL of where the Xbox is connected. Most of the time, you can find this when you go to the network section of your custom Xbox, but in case you don't, here is something that might help on how to mod your Xbox with emulators successfully.

The address is usually 192.168.2.1?. The ? = the port number your Xbox is connected to on your router. Example, if the Xbox is connected to port 2, than the address will be 192.168.2.12, and if it is connected to port 4, the address will be 192.168.2.14. DO NOT change the port number on the program, leave it at 21 as default. For the user name type in "Xbox" and for the password type in "Xbox" Next, click connect.

They will show up on different folders. Browse through them and find the one folder than contains the folder labeled "games". This is where your going to put your emulators. (I am aware that there are different custom firmwares for the Xbox, this is the case on the one I am using though)

Next, simply put the emulators in that folder and restart your Xbox. Most of the emulators will allow you to browse through your folders, so just create a folder called roms for your individual emulators and put your roms there. Every time you install a new rom, you have to restart your Xbox I find. That's it. Hope you enjoyed this article on how to mod your Xbox. Don't worry about the emulators, I've included a link below with all the necessary downloads.
