How to Maximize Your Social Media Efforts With Google

Have you been using social media to market your business? A lot of effort goes into building credibility and authority within that arena. Once you are beginning to see results, however, the question arises of whether there is something else you can do to maximize your efforts and increase your exposure. Well, hang tight, because there is!

The most incredible part of what you are about to read is that it will take you all of two minutes to set up, will not cost you a cent, requires no upkeep at all, and will put Google to work for you! I have to thank Katie Freiling for bringing this to my attention. It so powerful, that I HAD to share it with everyone else, though.

What are we talking about then? Google Social Circle Search. What is that exactly? Well, Google has become well aware of the fact that social media IS the next big thing. In fact some social media sites are beating Google in terms of traffic and the number of users they get each day. So, Google is trying to integrate that trend into their searches.

What they've done is they have added a section to the search results you get on Google, which allows you to see what people in your "social circle" are posting or commenting in reference to your search. As long as you are logged-into your account, you will be able to get a listing of that things your friends, followers, and email contacts have to "say" in reference to your search query.

How it works for YOU, though, is that in order to have your posts and comments be found and listed by Google for this new feature, you MUST create a Google profile at Google.com/profiles. Make sure to add as much information as possible on there, and include your picture! If you want to go one step further, go to knoll.google.com, to have your profile verified. That's it! You're done!

It's amazing, but this simple, two-minute set up can really get you added traffic to your blog or site. Just keep doing what you're doing and watch it work like magic!
