How to Manage Excessive Face Sweating

Just like when we sweat profusely under our arms or on our palms, excessive face sweating can be just as embarrassing. Although there is no treatment that can guarantee a remedy that will stop facial sweating, there are still ways with which we can manage it.

  • Handkerchief. Having a handkerchief on hand, whether for a man or a woman, is very normal and even speaks well of a person's hygiene. Always having a handkerchief with you will come in handy when you need to dab away or wipe away perspiration without calling too much attention to yourself. Being able to wipe away sweat on your face can also cool you down because your anxiety and worry over your excessive facial sweating will lessen.
  • Stop using facial products. Facial products like powders, facial creams or foundation block our pores. When our sweat glands are blocked they have a tendency to produce more sweat. Try not to use these facial products for a few days and see if the facial sweating will lessen.
  • Corn starch. Using corn starch as a face powder can be of great help because it absorbs excess sweating. Although you can not apply too much of it especially when you are at work but you can do this before bedtime as a daily ritual which might lessen your excessive facial sweating.
  • Water. Drinking lots of water will not activate sweat production. Instead it will cool down your body temperature so that your sweating will lessen.
  • Manage your stress and anxiety levels. Anxiety, stress, tension, anger and nervousness are common triggers of excessive sweating. Sweating is often perceived to be a reflection of your psychological and emotional state and the best way to avoid stress sweating is to relax. Take deep breaths and exhale slowly so that you can manage your stress and anxiety much better and lessen your facial sweating.
  • Wash your face. Freshening up is not a bad idea and washing your face in the process will cool you down and may lessen your facial sweating.
  • Tea facial wash. For centuries,Chinese women have been using tea as a facial wash. Tea contains a property that can help keep you dry. When used as a daily facial wash, it may help lessen facial sweating.
  • Watch your weight. Overweight people tend to perspire more so maintain a healthy weight for your body through eating a balanced diet and exercising.
  • Temperature and humidity. Increase in temperature and humidity encourages sweating. Stay away from places where the temperature and humidity is high.

Although facial sweating may not have any serious implications, being able to manage it will help alleviate the psychological implications it may have on a person.
