How to Make a Worm Compost Bin

First of all you should know how to make a wooden compost bin to be able to add your worms to. Your bin should be sturdy with plenty of holes for aeration. The next thing you would do is to dig out a hole in your garden in a position you have chosen to place the bin where the temperature does not jump up or down too much. Once you have dug the hole then place the bin in the ground with the holes facing downwards.

Now you have to prepare the bin before placing the earthworms in it. Add shredded paper, compost that has already been prepared and peat moss to the bin and add soil to the hole surrounding your compost bin so that the bin is planted firmly in the ground. Finally you can add your earthworms to the bin with a couple of vegetable peels from the kitchen. The bin must be covered. You can just use a wooden board for this. This will keep out any dampness from rain and will also keep out the flies.
