How to Make Yourself Happy

Many people look to people or situations outside of themselves for happiness. They think if only they had more money, a better relationship or more time that life would be better. The truth is that nothing or nobody can make you happy except yourself. When you are feeling frustrated, angry or depressed bring your focus to how you can make yourself happy. Here are some techniques to achieve this.

  • Change your thinking to the idea that prosperity and loving relationships come as a result of feeling happy and not the reverse. In other words, try to feel good first and the rest will follow.
  • Stop looking to others to make you feel better or give you what you want. Remember that you have the power to do this by yourself.
  • Once you have let go of this dependency on others, ask yourself this question: "What can I do to make myself happy?" It may be a hobby that you enjoy, places you love to go or a class you would like to join. Then take action to incorporate these things into your life.
  • Focus on certain areas in your life that you can improve. For example, put your thoughts into redecorating your home and making it a place that you are proud of. Do the same with your career. Is there a course you can take that will increase your confidence and skills and make you more successful in your work?
  • Enjoy your accomplishments and realize that you are the one who has made these things happen.

Once you change your focus to making yourself happy you will also improve your ability to love yourself, which is the key to attracting success in all areas of your life.
