When I first stumbled onto internet marketing, I was aimlessly trying to drive massive amounts of traffic to my website. Then I learned the importance of building an email list. With an email list you can send any amount of people to your site at any given time.
With this in mind I decided to start sending those who signed up for my email list to my website, and thus I saw more sales take place than ever before. You can do the same thing. However to really make it big with email marketing, you have to do specific things. Let's cover a few of them.
Strong Opening Line
One of the best ways to increase email readership and thus get more people to look at your web page is to have a strong opening line. This line is often times referred to as the hook. You reel people in with a good opening phrase. What I've found to be effective in doing this is to state the greatest benefit that your potential customer will have if they read your email and view your website. You can even use a catchy phrase or ask them a question that makes them extremely curious.
Format Your Emails Correctly
Ever read a book or magazine column that was full of big, blocky text? This is boring and it will most certainly make a person not want to read what you have to say. Keep your emails no longer than three to four sentences. Also make sure that they are no longer than three lines but if you have to make them four, ensure that they are short sentences.
Don't Forget Your Bullets
Bullet points are used to reinforce benefits. They should be included in every promotional email that you send out to your subscribers. Many times people will not read an email all the way through. They will skim it first, then pick out certain points that they want to read. Your main benefits should always be included in the bullets.
