Anniversaries are commonly celebrated by couples who have been going out for years. Married couples or those who are in a girlfriend-boyfriend state observe this yearly celebration to commemorate the beginning of their relationship.
There are many ways to celebrate this occasion. On the first years, the celebration can be romantic and exciting. However, as years go by, anniversaries tend to be boring. In some cases, couples tend to neglect having celebrations because they are too busy with work. But what they actually need is a fresh idea to make the day special.
Anniversaries should be about you and your partner. You can do away with drinking in public bars, candlelight dinner at expensive restaurants or partying with friends and family. On top of that, you really do not have to spend that much to make the day special.
So what can you do to have a different approach to anniversaries? What should you consider to make the celebration special without being boring?
Time and Date of Celebration
Consider the time. If you can spend time together on the date itself, then do so. However, there are also couples who are really busy with their work. If this is the case, they can celebrate it at an earlier or later date. But it shouldn't be too early or too late.
Activities for the Day
You can make formal dining as a tradition for your anniversaries. However, if you fall short on the budget, improvise dinners, lunch or breakfast. Cook at home. Learn new recipes that appeals to the senses. Or you can try to pack your meals, grab a bottle of wine, bring a picnic cloth and eat out. Find sites that have breathtaking views. You can even have a bonfire dinner by the beach as well.
Do exciting and fun activities. The essence of anniversaries is spending time together. It is an opportunity to relive the happy days. However, this does not mean that you have to wait for anniversaries before you do something special. Although this is the case, anniversaries can be the perfect day for couples who rarely have the time to do things together. Do something out of this world: go skinny dipping, hiking, relax by getting a spa, watch the latest flick or discover new hotspots.
Surprise each other
There are simple things that can make the heart grow fonder. You can leave a love letter before going to work. Make breakfast in bed. Have a bouquet delivered at her office. Give him a card with an I love you note and other heart-warming messages. You can surprise your partner in many ways.
Gifts are also welcome. You do not have to buy expensive jewelry like diamond rings and necklaces though. You can find more intricate jewelry like a simple Claddagh ring. You can have it engraved to mark the date you have given the piece.
Other options for gifts involve personalized items that they can use at work. Examples are portrait mugs and shirts with outrageous comments of how sexy your partner is.
