How to Lose Weight Without Developing an Eating Disorder

How much weight you would lose would really depend on how much you are eating, not more than how much you burn in an exercise. Thinking this way would help you from over working out or even over starving yourself. You can lose weight without having to develop an eating disorder.

We want to have a balance of low calorie days and normal to high calorie days... This balance can avoid overeating and starving yourself.

Develop a Calorie Deficit Without Going to Eating Extremes

In order to lose weight more effectively without harming yourself is to develop a calorie deficit in your WEEKLY calorie intake. It is more safe and easy to monitor calories from week to week in order to have a balance between those days when you can eat high calorie meals and those low calorie days. This balance has a few advantages:

- it does not promote overeating yet there is a feeling of satisfaction because you still get to eat anything you want but just on certain days of the week.

- your body does not require constant amount of food; in order to lose weight you need to let your body use stored body fats as a source of energy. It cannot use it when you are constantly intaking food.

How to Develop the Habit of Having Calorie Deficit Days

Choose two non-consecutive days of the week when you are more likely to be busy and not have any events. This would be a Monday or Wednesday for some. These are the days when you can either fast or have 1-2 meals of low calories. Use two if you are still starting to adjust to this habit. Healthy choices are great to enjoy these days. In weekends there can be foods you normally enjoy.

In any habit, the moment you get used to this for 2 consecutive weeks, the more likely you will stick with it. This eating pattern is not only for losing weight but also maintaining weight.

This balance and weekly monitoring can help not only you consistently lose weight but also avoid major eating disorders like overeating and undereating. If you want to lose weight, you can start seeing results if you develop this habit. The low calorie days will not decrease your metabolism even if you are working out. This is a concept built on intermittent fasting, and studies have shown no direct effect on exercise. It even helps on focus and fat burning in workouts.
