To lose 15 pounds fast, one should not jump into it head first, as you will lose more than just that 15 pounds, along with your head...

You have to take a step back, calm down, and ask yourself a few questions.

  • Do you want to lose that 15 pounds for an upcoming event, and gain it back, after the event? Or do you want to lose it, and keep it off forever?
  • How fast do you need to lose that weight? Are there really any time constraints here?
  • What measures are you willing to take to lose that amount of weight? How disciplined are you? How bad do you really want it?
  • What kind of weight is it that you want to lose? Are you happy with losing just water and muscle, or are you intelligent enough to know that it is fat you want to get rid of?

I am going to give you 3 options, each one of which needs to be approached with integrity, self-discipline and care.

How to lose 15 pounds in 7 days

Firstly and importantly - One should never go on a detox fast, solely for the purpose of losing weight. Fast weight loss is certainly a beneficial side effect of cleansing your body, but you should take another step back before taking this option, and make something very clear in your mind: That you will go on the fast with the intentions only of cleansing your body from toxins, and to come out of the fast with a new respect for your body and a complete dedication to change your eating habits for the better.

However, it is very possible to lose this amount of weight, and even more, on a 7 day fast. You have various options, including a water fast, juice fast, or doing the Master Cleanse diet. Bare in mind that you will not lose much fat. It will be mostly matter from the colon, and water weight. You will gain back about 5 pounds within a few days after the fast, but your body will now be more ready than ever to keep on burning fat, if you feed it right.

Follow up on your fast with a calorie controlled, healthy and balanced diet, and after 30 days you could find yourself 20 pounds lighter, burning fat like boiling water and on the way to the body you want with lightning speed.

How to lose 15 pounds in 4 weeks

You need to change your eating habits right away. Start following the nutritional principles that will turn your body into a fat burning machine. Eat more regular, but smaller meals (5 - 7 meals daily), that consist of lean proteins, low calorie and high fibre carbohydrates, and reduced amounts of healthy fats, and stop skipping breakfast.

You must start a decent exercise regime. If you are only beginning, start slow, but you can work yourself up to a pretty good body weight exercise routine in about two weeks. For the first two weeks, by eating right, you can burn off about 3 pounds a week, that is 6 pounds total. For the next two weeks your exercise program could be up to speed, and you can burn those calories to lose the 9 pounds that is left. Eat for those final two weeks to burn off 4 pounds, and exercise to burn off the other 5 pounds.

How to lose 15 pounds 8 weeks

This is the option that I would recommend to anyone. Firstly, it will avoid any disappointment, and secondly it will give you time to change your bad eating habits with more confidence, and allow you to relax into your exercise program. This is certainly the easiest way to go, and as you can burn off 2 pounds per week without going through any discomfort, hunger or pain, you can lose up to 16 pounds in 8 weeks.

But once again, you do need to be disciplined. You do need to change your eating habits for the better. And a good exercise program will have you reaping the health benefits for years to come.
