How to Level a WoW Toon to 80 in BGs

If you play World of Warcraft, then you probably already know that battlegrounds (BGs) now give you experience. You've probably heard also that some people are using the battlegrounds as a way to level up their characters on the side and to save from questing or doing instances.

While it's not typically the most efficient way to level anymore, it is a consistent way to level. You can do it while you are doing other things around the house or on your computer. For example, I will often do a battle, then write an article for work. Then while waiting to get in another battle, I can do another article. You could do this while you are cleaning your room or picking up around the house. You can also do it while watching TV or other activities where you would not be able to give the game 100% of your attention.

Then some people just really like BGs or want to get honor to buy epic gear at 80 or want to level a toon for PVP at 80. All of these are decent reasons to level in BGs and get honor and experience at the same time. If you want to be fully effective at leveling in BGs, it helps to have at least 2 characters that you are working on at the same time so you can rotate back and forth accordingly.

Here are some tips on how to level a toon to 80 in BGs in World of Warcraft:

· First level your character to 10 in the starter zone. This is the minimum level to start signing up for BGs.

· At level 10, you can get into Warsong Gulch. This is the only BG you can do until 20. It is basic capture-the-flag and queues to get in are typically pretty quick on most servers and most times of the day.

· Quest in a level-appropriate area while you are waiting to get into the BGs. This also helps you earn some money since you get no gold for doing BGs.

· When you are of level to do the BG weekend, always get in this one as often as possible throughout the entire weekend. It has extra experience and honor for wins. At lower levels, you can get an entire level of experience for a win in the BG weekend.

· Sign up for the maximum of 2 BGs at a time. If you get into one while waiting for another, that's at least some experience you might get.

· Don't get stressed or tensed when you win or don't win. Just relax and enjoy the game. Attitudes in BGs can sometimes get you down. Turn off chat if it bothers you.

· Don't go afk. Avoid AFKing out of the battle or standing around looking like you're doing nother or people will report you afk. Then you have to wait 15 minutes to get into another battle.

· If your server gets on a roll winning a particular BG, ride it for as long as you can. When the wins stop, go ahead and take a break or try a different BG.

· When you're of level, AV and AB tend to give the most experience, not counting BG weekend "Call to Arms".

When you follow these tips, it will help you to level your character to 80 using BGs in the quickest manner possible. While this is still not the most efficient way to level a character, it still gets it done. It can also be a fun break from the tedious questing or the repetitive dungeons that you might have been doing.
