Most of us simply rely on our gut feel when it concerns losing weight. But you need not depend on guesswork anymore. Here are some early signs which tell you that it is time to take care of your body weight:  

  • Though common, but mot of us tend to ignore this early sign of overweight - that is our old clothes do not fit us any more. Though it is possible for body weight to fluctuate or rise/fall suddenly and temporarily, but it makes sense if you join a weight loss program or design your own weight loss diet, once you find that the old clothes are getting useless as you cannot get into them anymore. It is also not wise to ignore small weight gains. These small gains usually multiply and can have negative impact on your health.
  • The other sign which can be indicative of your putting on too much weight is when you have problems in doing regular activities like walking up stairs, etc. Though running short of breath or panting may not always be a weight-related problem, but often it is. It is amazing when you control your body weight, even a small amount you find that you have no more problems in doing the usual duties like taking kids to the park, etc.
Once you are completely sure that you need to lose weight, you need to proceed in the matter cautiously. There are countless diet pills, weight loss programs and exercise equipment recommended or available in the market, but many of them yield no result. You not only need to prevent wastage of money but also to take care of your health in the long run. Therefore the best option is to consult your doctor before embarking on any weight loss program, even if you design one yourself.
