They are not asking to be looked after or to have you solve their problems for them, but just that their man listens to them.

Women are also experts at speaking in the morning on the telephone for a couple of hours to the girlfriend with whom they are going to spend the afternoon. The origins of this behavior date back to early history. The women stayed at home while the men went off hunting to feed the family. They were completely dependent on the assistance of the other women when they or their families were ill or they were giving birth to children.
