How to Grow Your Business - Connecting With Your Customers

Want to know the success secret of most giant companies out there? How they grow from nothing to a multi-million dollar companies? Well, it's the relationship they build with their customers. Most successful companies are very customer-orientated. That means they listen to what their customers' needs and wants and then give it to them.

Here are two things I would like to talk about in this article.

1. Talk to your customers and understand what they really need

Most company publications, advertisements, pamphlets, flyers, commercials, sales letters fail because they only talk about how great they are. In my observations, successful companies focus on their customers and their needs.

They show compassion and empathy of the problems that their prospects are having and provide real solutions to them. So instead of using words like 'me', 'I', 'we', try to use words like 'you' and 'your'.

2. How to develop customer oriented relationships.

Now you may be asking, how do you a good relationship with your customers? Quite simply, start taking an interest of your customers or prospects. Give them incentives or bonuses for being a great customer.

You can send gifts and presents to them if you know there's an event that they will be celebrating like wedding anniversary, birthday or even Christmas.

Be generous. For instance, recently I signed up with an online service and after signing up with them for 2 weeks, I received an mail in my mailbox. A real physical mail thanking me for joining their service. I thought, wow, how thoughtful is that? See, it doesn't take much to send out a letter like that. But sadly you don't see many companies doing it.
