Once you have your credit report you should carefully check it. Sometimes errors are made due to data entry mistakes. Sometimes errors are there because of fraud. If you suspect anything is wrong, then you should contact the relevant credit bureau immediately. You should do this in writing, clearly stating your name, address and details of your dispute. Enclose a copy of your credit report and any other documents that back up your case. The credit bureau should then investigate your case within 30 days and send you a written copy of what the outcome was.
