The misunderstanding happened and the inevitable separation between you and your ex occurred. Each of you went your different ways but deep within you, you want to have your ex back. You tried every means known to you all to no avail.

1. Self Examination: Take some time off yourself and have some self examination. Question your conscience. There is a great possibility that you are the one that really fueled the misunderstanding. So question yourself and find out how you have been responsible for the disagreement. List out your shortcomings

2. Make the Changes: As a follow up of step one, using your list as a guideline make the necessary changes in your own life. It may be that you nag, complain excessively or you always want to have your way or have the final word in an argument. It may be that you never listen to him talk. Try to honestly make the needed changes. You will soon discover that the sense of hopelessness will disappear as you progress.

3. Communicate: Communication is the key to building a lasting relationship. By now, time would have helped your ex to overcome most of the initial fury. If you ask for an audience you can be sure he will be willing to grant it. Communicate with him/her on the issue at hand. Communication is a two way thing. Allow your ex to say his/her mind. Be willing to apologize when you see your faults pointed out to you. This may be all that is needed to bring the two of you together again
