Okay, I know how it feels to be a complete beginner and not know anything. You may be learning the internet marketing lingo, learning what HTML is, or learning how to setup a website. 1. Choose the Product and Niche you will Promote- A great place to start is ClickBank. There are more affiliate programs but this is a good one for beginners to start at. You want your product to be something that is already successful.
2. Begin Keyword research in your Niche- The smartest way for an affiliate to make money is to stay within a targeted niche. Go to the Google Keyword Tool and find keyword and phrase that people are searching for in your niche. If you are promoting a fly fishing guide from ClickBank, you should find keywords with little competition to target.
3. Start Your Website- No matter what anyone tells you, you need a website. If you are not ready to pay for domain and hosting use a free blogging site. There are so many to choose from; here are some good ones to look into. Blogger, WordPress, Weebly, Squidoo, HubPages, and Tumblr. Now you should use those keywords in your domain name and on your page.
4. Write a Product Review- I know this may seem hard but it is not. Use the actual product sales page as a guide to writing your review. You can also, look up other people's review page and use them as inspiration. This is not that hard and should not take up a lot of time. Simply write what the product does and how it can help your potential customer. After you write your review page add your affiliate link and post it. Now you have your own site. You can also, customize your page with different templates, but know what you are doing. If you have no idea how to change a template don't worry about it. Move on and learn later. All that matters now is keeping it simple and getting it done.
5. Promote Promote Promote!- There are so many ways to promote but some really good ones to start are forums, articles, and social networking site. Find about 2 forums in your products niche and join them. Add to the discussions on the forums. Place your website link in your forum signature and post as much as possible. Try and answer peoples post and be helpful. Every time you post on the forum your link to your website will be posted. You should spend at least 30 mins to 1 hour daily doing this. Also, don't spam in the forums because you will be banned. Now on to articles. You should write at least 1 article a day on your products topic and submit it to article directories. If you are a fast typist this should not take long. Also, if you are not a natural writer find other peoples articles and use them as inspiration. Make sure not to copy anyone's work. Now I say write at least 1 article per day but if you can do more you should. On to social networking. You can join the different groups on Facebook or MySpace in your niche and promote your website. Remember not to spam. You can also, start your own groups.
Now that you have some simple ways to get started go ahead and start. Remember perfection is not an option but getting it done is the only option. Do your very best, strive to help others, believe in your product and yourself, and just do it. Don't over complicate things. As you grow in your business you will learn more advanced ways to get traffic to you websites, but keep it simple right now. Once you find success with your first site simply repeat the process.
