Moths are attracted to standing water and clothes that have been shut away for a while. If you're noticing a moth problem of any kind, thoroughly clean your home and air your clothing. You may want to wash and dry any clothing that you haven't worn in a while. Also, check the outside of your home for nests and get rid of them. If you want to know how to get rid of moths, the first thing to do is thoroughly clean the interior and exterior of your home. Insects of all kinds are attracted to water, to dark places, to grime and dirt.

Moths do not like the smell of cedar. Use cedar chips or a cedar block if you want to know how to get rid of moths.
