How to Get People to Join Your Business - Network Marketing and Picking Prospects

Network marketing is a great way to get out of the rat race. Fire your boss. Be in charge of your own destiny. OK, in reality it's not easy. But with today's information and the power of the internet it has become simple. I didn't say easy, I said simple. It can be done.

It is simple if you think about it one strategy at a time. You research and learn about just one strategy (marketing). When that one is producing for you, you automate it, put others in charge of it and go on to the next strategy. The 500 pound gorilla in the room is information overload and listening to the wrong people. I believe the one hurdle that is hardest to clear in the mind of a prospective business partner that you might be talking to is that you've got the "right" information.

In reality there is no "right" or "wrong" information. There is effective information that produces results and there is ineffective information that does not produce results. To be more precise there are strategies that work and there are strategies that work better. If a prospect that you're talking to believes that you've got some beneficial information or some effective techniques, they will at least listen to you.

Think about the high price that most people are paying today for their success. Many are working 60 hours or more a week. That is not freedom. I think of doctors (God bless them), they work ridiculous hours. They pay a very high price in terms of the freedom they give up for their paycheck. Folks that work a lot of hours per week can be great individuals to approach about a network opportunity because they drive themselves so hard.

You've got to be able to see yourself as being successful. Who would you hire if you were running a million dollar company. That's who you should be looking for now. People with no desire, or people who are broke are not the ones you should be looking at to be involved in your successful company.

People have to know that it's not easy. If you have the mindset that if you just recruit one or two MLM rock stars that they'll do all the work for you. No, you have to figure out how to be one of those rock stars. If you make your success dependent upon any other person, it's probably not going to happen.

You don't want people thinking this is a get rich quick game. Most folks that make good money in network marketing do it over the course of many years. Those folks get up every morning and focus on things that produce results. They concentrate on things that bring in prospects/recruits. The emphasize moving their product. They do these things day in and day out. The do them until they get very good at them. Then they teach others how to do the things that have made them money and brought them in recruits. So it's not get rich quick. But if you take the quick out of get rich quick, you'll still end up making more money than you would doing something else. The big payoff is that the more people you get involved in your organization, the more money you make.

People that want to build a home-based business are the only kind of people that you should be talking to. You don't recruit someone just because they're breathing. You need to pick and choose who you work with. You have to work hard and smart. Ask a lot of questions. Stay in control of the conversation. If a person that you're talking to about your opportunity takes over the conversation, you've lost control of the process.

It's very important to hire the right kind of people. Weed out people that will pull you down. Whether it is in your propect's mentality or their personal excitement, all attitudes must be checked to build a business. Just hiring a prospect for the sake of having a prospect is a waste of time.
