How to Get Paid to Buy Stuff

Expert Author Phil Johncock

What if you could get paid to buy stuff you use in your business every day. What would that look like? In this article, you'll learn the top 5 questions to ask yourself to get paid to buy stuff you're already using.

Question 1

What are the unique benefits you get from the products you buy for your home-based business?

For example, in my domain registrar and website hosting service, I get a low monthly rate, unlimited domain names, 24/7 customer service, enough space to take audios and videos off my computer hard disc, free WordPress to create blogs, and an excellent affiliate program.

Knowing the unique benefits of each product makes it easier to tell others about it and distinguish it from the competition.

TIP: Take special note of the products and services that have affiliate programs. Sign up for these. Most affiliate sign up links are at the bottom of a vendor's webpage.

Question 2

Where can you show off your affiliate link to the products you like?

I give products and services that have affiliate programs higher "buying potential" scores. That is, when I'm looking to buy something like a training program or software package, if it has an affiliate program, I'm more likely to buy it. Why? Because I can turn around and get paid for recommending it, if I like it.

Join the affiliate programs right away. This can be as simple as filling out a form and including your contact info and the name you would like on your affiliate checks.

Once you are approved as an affiliate, you will be given an affiliate link. You can put this link in your email signatures, Twitter tweets, Facebook page and other social media sites, and your blog. You can even send out a special email sharing what you like about it.

Many affiliate programs also provide sample email messages, tweets and banner ads you can use.

Question 3

What motivates you to endorse a product?

When you endorse a product, you put your credibility on the line. Your reputation is paramount. Promote the items that you believe in and that you use.

When you like something and see its value, you want others to experience it, too. Share your enthusiasm for the product. Excitement sells. Passion sells. It's a bonus that you get paid.

Tap into your passion, and you'll have the fuel you need to sell.

Question 4

How can you make more money than you spend?

With only 2-4 referrals of most products, you make more money than you have spent. For example, recently by asking myself this question, I made 6 times what I paid for a training program before the 8 weeks had even finished.

Question 5

What's your Return On Investment (ROI)?

ROI means getting the money back from your initial purchase. With affiliate programs, you will be notified immediately when somebody you referred buys. For example, I was sitting by a fireplace at Sierra Hot Springs, playing my guitar and singing, when I received an email to notify me that I made a $1,000 commission on a referral.

I make it a game to shorten the gap between when I make a purchase and when I make more money than I paid. For example, in a recent training, I paid $2,700. I got paid $2,300 (85%) before the training even started.

In one of my programs, I show people how to earn back their full tuition before they graduate.
