How to Get Into Computer Forensics

Computer forensics is a relatively new field to study. However as I google, it shows 2,500,000 hits! This shows the popularity and increase in demand of this field.  Currently, there are a number of colleges and universities which offer this course.

 Bear in mind that there is no shortcut to earn any degree. The basic principle is to get a recognized degree offer by accredited colleges or universities.  This will help to ensure that your degree is recognized by established companies. In order to successfully earn your degree as per the duration set, you will need to commit to your studies, have initiative, practice proper time management, just to name a few. Of course, always remember that "practice makes perfect".

After that, you can pursue in recognized certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Profession (CISSP) and Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) which will add value to your portfolio. For those who have gained years of working experience, this is a preferable path to pursue. However there are few requirements to meet in order enroll in these certifications. Hence, it is advisable to check out the requirements before hand and plan ahead your education and career path.

As many colleges and universities offer "online" courses these days, choosing this option will assist you to allocate your time between study and gaining working experience at the same time. Having adequate working experience will assist you to gain more insight of what you are studying.

In short, getting yourself a recognized  degree is a good start to kick off a successful career in the future.
