The majority of projects or goals of any size or importance, require several steps during a period of time in order to be completed. Projects that are worth it, take time, preparation, and staying with it through numerous phases, over extended time periods. With all of the above being true, it also applies when determining how to find the right business networking group. Finding the optimum business networking group takes much more than just one step. In order for you to be satisfied in the end, review these 5 steps.
Step 1.
Clearly know your business goals for at least the next 3 months. This will be important because the group you join should be in direct proportion to your business goals. If you ever skip or ignore this, you could be setting yourself up for disappointments and lose valuable time.
Step 2.
Define your target clientele and decide what other types of businesses serve the same market. This can be a really important step that will need your full attention and concentration. You must take this step seriously. The key reason why you'll need to do this is that your colleagues in your business group that serve the same clientele can work out to be great joint venture partners.
Step 3.
Log onto Google and online social networks and get busy. The real reason for this is to locate favorable-targeted business groups that will satisfy your needs. Also, you want to research your Chamber of Commerce and some form of off-line local directory for more options.
Step 4.
Once you have located some quality groups, invest 30 days to visit the best ones. To elaborate on that a little bit, many business groups will allow you to visit a few times, free of charge and in the long run this kind of research will be well worth it.
Step 5.
Choose 1-3 groups and make sure to maintain good attendance. Additionally, visit your colleagues/group-members frequently outside of the meetings.
