How to Fail at Internet Marketing in 5 Simple Ways
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

I can assure you that using any of these 5 methods will be an absolute recipe of "How To Fail At Internet Marketing".

1. Download and read every free or purchased manual or Ebook you can find. All this is going to do for you is give you headaches, information overload, a cluttered up computer and an empty wallet.

2. Don't think about the consumer or client you are trying to reach or what they are looking for; no keyword research.

3. Jump into PPC (pay per click) advertising before you have even learned the basics. Again you will end up with an empty wallet and nothing in return.

4. Take some information from each manual or Ebook you have downloaded and attempt to use a little bit from each of them at the same time. Too many ideas are involved and will not work using a little bit of this and a little bit of that to gain any results. Without the understanding of how it all works and how it all meshes together you will have too many irons in the fire and nothing happening with any of them.

5. Try to copy and paste information and content thinking if it works for them, it will work for me. Google is too smart for that and you will have started off your internet business or internet marketing career with a bad reputation from the beginning that you may not be able to overcome.

No doubt if you are an internet user, at one time or another you have entertained the idea of starting your own internet business or with internet marketing.

When you read all of the information and websites out there that claim to be able to make you rich overnight. It is human nature for your interest to peak and those dreams of having lots of money coming in and being able to buy anything you want puts your mind into over drive with enthusiasm and those little dollar signs just start flashing.

That is exactly what those websites are meant to do; peak your interest and promise that those dreams are possible with little or no work involved.

There is money to be made on the internet but it does not happen and will not happen overnight. It is hard work and you have to be dedicated and seriously committed to learning each and every aspect of keyword search, SEO (search engine optimization), website creation, HTML, article writing and marketing, building your list of subscribers and more.

There are many techniques and methods to internet marketing and one business plan or strategy that someone uses does not necessarily mean it is going to work for you or the next person. You have to read, research and try different methods to see what your interests and strengths are and then proceed slowly and test your ideas. If one idea does not work, try another one and keep trying until you find the plan that works for you.

If this is truly what you want to do, then even the attempts that did not end in success will be a learning experience for you. Don't give up.  Realize that you have to continually work until you find your place on the internet and in internet marketing.

Below are some suggestion if you DO want to succeed in internet marketing:

1. It is true that you will have to do a lot of reading, especially if you are a beginner. Don't download or purchase everything you see. Read and research and go with your gut feelings about the information you are taking in. Research about who wrote the manual or Ebook and learn as much as you can about them. Maybe their methods are not something you are interested in trying. Keep on searching until you find someone you are comfortable with and can easily understand their instructions.

2. Join some forums and groups about internet businesses and internet marketing to learn as much of the basics before you jump into anything. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The other members were new in learning all of this at one time too and most are all too happy to help.

3. It is very easy to be distracted on the internet and go off in many different directions when something catches your interest and you lose your train of thought and then become totally confused. Concentrate on one thing at a time and finish it. If something you see along the way interests you, make a note of it and go back later to check it out.

4. Base your new business on something you are interested in such as a hobby or something you have a lot of knowledge about already. You will be much happier, more dedicated and put your best effort into your work. You will also be able to provide quality content to your readers if you know what you are talking or writing about.

5. The last and most important advice I can give you is once you have learned the basics, choose one or two experienced internet marketers as your mentors and stick with their ideas, suggestions and advice. Don't jump around and try to take advice from everyone. Each experienced marketer has their own opinions, methods and advice and you simply cannot and will not succeed when trying to learn something new from two people who have different opinions on the same subject. Stick with the "mentor or mentors" you have chosen and follow their plans. If you have taken their instructions, put all of your efforts and concentration into your work and find that the methods do not work for you, then try another method from someone else. Do not give up. If you are determined and dedicated you will find your place on the World Wide Web.

Good luck and much success to you in your business and internet marketing.
