Okay, let's talk about how to do card tricks. There are many different kinds of magic tricks, and there are many ways to categorize them. But let's organize them in a different way.

1) Tricks that work themselves

2) Tricks that use sleights

3) Large tricks

Large tricks are like David Copperfield making the Statue of Liberty disappear. Another example would be sawing a woman in half. Okay, we don't really need to concern ourselves with them. Tricks that use slights are any kind of trick that works based on your physical manipulation of the item. These tricks are the hardest.

You can spend years mastering these. I'll be honest with you. My hands are small. I can't really do many of the slights properly. I just can't get my fingers around some things and to conceal others. So that leads us to the last kind. The kind for us. Here's for the magic tricks that work themselves. These are my favorite. You just follow the steps and the trick works.

Let's just jump right in. you came here to learn how to do magic tricks, so let's do one...

(It's a card trick.)

Shuffle one deck of cards. Straighten the deck by tapping it on the table or something. This is key. When you smack the cards' edges on the table, you need to look at the bottom card. Don't let anyone see what you are doing. Don't make it obvious.

Now have anyone pick out a card at random. Then have them return the card to the top of the deck.

At this point you can cut the deck as much as you like to mix things up. Next just fan the deck out. Look for the card that you saw at the bottom of the deck. When you find it, the selected card will be the one that is right after it. If the card that you glimpsed is on the bottom of the deck, you know that the top card is the selected one.

Want to know more about the magic tricks I use? I have just recorded 4 videos showing my favorite tricks.
