If you have uncontaminated gas, store it in a special container that is made for gas, and use it in your lawnmower or other garden equipment as soon as possible.
There are some materials that you will always want to treat as hazardous waste. These items are brake fluid, power steering fluid, tires, diesel fuel, automatic transmission fluid, motor oil, automobile paint, and engine degreaser.
Usually local areas will have special collection days for hazardous wastes. You can find out when your day is by checking with the local Cooperative Extension Service, or health department. They will give you information on where and when to bring them.
