Frankly, I was shocked when I read this story!
Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times before he invented the light bulb!!! And that is what he said when they asked him about that...
"I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work." - Thomas Edison
Could that be true?!
How on earth someone could have patience to fail 10,000 times while working on something that only existed in his imagination? How did he develop that unshakable persistence?
Can you imagine the number? It is 10,000 unsuccessful trials!! It is TEN THOUSANDS!
And now you see people who quit after the first failure! Haven't they heard about Edison?!
Indeed, Edison's example is a perfect illustration of how everlasting success is crafted. It is crafted by persistence and faith. Successful people believe in themselves and their dreams. They have unshakable persistence.
Let's have a quick look at Edison's attitude here. Read what he said: "I haven't failed".
Successful people don't have the word 'failure' in their dictionary. It is only lessons. You too should remove this word from your vocabulary.
Let's face it, you only fail when you quit!
But here is an important question...
How can you develop an unshakable persistence that can keep you moving forward, no matter how many times you fail?
Based on my own personal experience, studies and the interviews I did to over 50 of the most successful people in the world nowadays (like Mike Litman, Joe Rubino, John Gordon, Gary Blair and many more), I can tell you this...
*** It all comes down to the power of purpose and passion.
When you discover your true purpose in life and the unique reason for your own existence, your giant will wake up. You will become unstoppable. When you follow your passion - this energy that fires your soul - you will have unshakable persistence.
This is simply because the only way to feel that you are truly living is by following your purpose in life. It is by doing what you love, being a person of value and making a difference.
Your purpose and passion are the unlimited energy source that fuels your motivation no matter how long the journey is or how many times you fail.
It does worth every effort from your side to work on discovering your true purpose in life. Ask yourself, "why am I here? What am I meant to do in this life? What do I love? What am I good at?"
I know no other way to have Edison's persistence and create everlasting success.
And remember...No Purpose, No Life.
