How to choose an affiliate program
Here are some of the factors you should keep an eye on:
1) Can you trust this affiliate program? Before you start promoting something, you need to make sure that it isn't a scam. Check out forums, Yahoo Answers or other places where there is a community on a certain niche. If you are into internet marketing, you can check the "Warrior Forum".
2) Will you get commissions for all future purchases of a customer you've referred. This is where there real magic starts happening. A person can be so impressed with a product that he will buy another one. And guess who will get the commission? You guessed it, YOU!
3) Has your program a two-tier program? This means if your customer brings on another person, you will get rewarded too.
4) Is your vendor a professional? A professional will want you to succeed (because it will also benefit him) and that's why he will give you some tips on how to bring on customers. You will get free articles, banners, email letters, links, etc.
5) How huge is the commission? Don't work for dimes. It's just not worth your time and nerves. Look for a product that gives you more than 50% of the profits. This way you will be motivated to bring new customers.
6) When are the commissions paid? Good affiliate program will pay you monthly or even weekly. This is also important.
7) Read the affiliate agreement. Read the terms of service, because some vendors do not tolerate spamming or any kind of black hat methods.
