How to Beat a Burglar!

What is worse than your personal possessions being stolen? Well it is as bad as it gets, but there are now many security options to allow you to protect your home against an intruder that will not cost the earth.

There are the obvious measures to take which every top security expert will tell you to do, such as not displaying valuable goods in easy view of burglars, making sure windows have locks and that you lock them every time you leave your house, using motion sensor exterior lighting to put them off and the correct use of dead bolts and solid wood or metal plated doors to make it more difficult for them to gain entry. But at the end of the day these measures can be so easily forgotten and so this is where an alarm system of even the simplest sort is the way to beat a burglar. The days of getting a security installation company to fit an alarm for you, costing you either hundreds of pounds as a one off payment or monthly fees that really do add up over time are fast coming to an end. These days people want do it yourself alarms to cut costs with the economic recession looming over all of us.

In today's world you don't just need security alarms that use sensors connected to a bell box that just makes a loud noise, these are too easy for a burglar to disable, as usually the make of bell box gives away the type of intruder alarm system in place. You now have the choice of either wired or wireless alarm systems and even alarm kits which use both systems. The wireless intruder alarms are rapidly growing in popularity due to not having any wires as most people will not want to have to rip up carpets and drill through walls making a great deal of work and costs, where as the wireless alarm kits can be fitted in minutes with no mess at all.

For less than £100 you can purchase a DIY wireless intruder alarm kit, which will allow you to protect your home in minutes. You simple stick movement sensors (PIR's) in a corner of each room and put door sensors on any external or internal doors, which can also be used for windows. The main panel of the alarm kit will then pick up the signal from these sensors to create a zone. The alarm is connected to your phone line and the system will then allow you to set it up to call a list of numbers if the alarm is ever triggered. Some systems even allow you to listen in to what is going on and even turn it on or off from any phone, even if you are the other side of the world.

The latest in security alarm technology is the use of GSM technology (mobile network technology), which for only £150 allows you to operate the alarm through your mobile and cuts out the need for a phone line going to the alarm. This allows alarms to be fitted in buildings without a phone line or where it is difficult to get one to and cuts out the risk of the intruder cutting the phone line disabling the alarm. They give the option of phoning people up or sending text messages when the alarm is set off by an intruder. The GSM alarm system is burglar proof with no way of it being disabled by the intruder.

So if you want peace of mind that your home or office is protected from burglars, one of these low cost alarm systems is the answer to beat the burglar.
