The auto industry has certainly taken a bath this last year as auto sales have plummeted, due to the bad economy, but things are starting to look up. With the Cash for clunkers program went into effect, auto dealers sold more cars in those few weeks than they have sold in the entire year. With people losing less jobs and the stock market rising, things are getting better in the auto industry. If you love cars and have wanted to sell them, now is a great time to get back into the car business.

There is a bad label that has been put on car dealers and sadly it is very true. Too many car salesman push clients way to hard and use manipulative sales tactics to sell a piece of garbage to someone who didn't even want that type of car. As a salesman you can do honest good business with people without having to fall into the stereotype of typical car dealers. Follow these tips to be one of the good guys on the lot.

Treat people with respect and find them what they want and need. Don't slam them into a car that won't help them or even be close to what they want. Also, give people clear information and don't try to cover anything up. Good business is return business. To often a salesman just wants to hurry and make a quick sell, but in reality it hurts their future chances of making consistent money because those people end up never coming back. If you treat people with dignity and respect, it will go a long way.
