How to Apply a Dupli Color Truck Bed Liner - 3 Easy Tips
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

A Dupli-Color truck bed liner is far cheaper than a typical spray on bed liner. For many trucks it may be just as good. The coating is polyurethane pain that includes rubbery texture pieces. It's made to be either sprayed on or even rolled or brushed on. We just put on a roll on bed liner and here are three tips based on what we learned.

Tip 1: Roll on as good as spray on.

A professional spray on liner is different from a do it yourself liner. The material is different and it's much thicker too. With that said, a do it yourself bed liner that's rolled on looks just like it was sprayed on. Here's why...

The paint is so thick that as it dries it covers every kind of roller mark and brush marks too. You cannot tell whether it was applied with a spray gun or a roller. So a roller applied coating looks just as good.

Tip 2: Get an extra quart or even a gallon.

A professional spray liner contains up to 5 gallons of paint. That's part of the reason for the long life of those liners. So don't skimp on the bed paint. One gallon really isn't enough. At least get an extra quart and an extra gallon is even better.

Tip 3: Plasti-Kote or Herculiner?

What about the other brands? The paint brands are much alike. Some are only available in black, others are in other colors. Herculiner seems to be a bit more textured than the competition. The basic materials in the different brands seem to be very much alike. Choose what you like. Get a kit with some brands so all the supplies are right in one package.

A bed liner coating is a fast way to make a truck look better as well as a way to add some protection for truck bed. Save money by using the right bed liner paint and get a better looking truck at the same time.
