Sweating is our body's natural way of regulating its temperature. To some degree, it also provides lubrication to rubbing parts and discharges wastes. It is therefore normal and necessary to sweat under the appropriate conditions but like other facilities in our bodies, it can malfunction.

The most prevalent problem in regard to sweating is Hyperhidrosis, the medical term for excessive sweating. There are millions of excessive sweat sufferers in the US and they are afflicted in varying degrees in different regions of their body, most prominent of which are the underarms (axillary), hands (palmar), feet (plantar) and face (facial).

There are 2 main categories of excessive sweating. The first one is Primary Hyperhidrosis. It typically affects a specific region of the body and is not attached or related to another physiological problem. The other category, Secondary Hyperhidrosis, generally affects the whole body and is the result of another underlying medical disorder such as diabetes, malignancy, hyperthyroidism and so forth.

Technically speaking, excessive sweating is a medical condition. Although it is hardly ever life-threatening, it can have serious effects on the sufferer. Apart from the physical discomfort of soaked clothes and sweaty body, it can also be emotionally destabilizing. Treatment is necessary when it starts to get in the way of normal everyday living as it won't resolve on its own. It will in fact get progressively worse and become unbearable sooner or later especially if it's accompanied by resultant odor.

Just as there are different types of excessive sweat, there are different ways to stop it. Depending on the severity of the problem, it can be overcome with anything from simply applying antiperspirants to surgery and anything in between such as creams, injections and other forms of therapy. Bearing in mind the factors of cost, side-effects, risks, complication and scars, the best way to treat the condition is to adopt a conservative approach because the damage of over-treatment can be permanent and irreversible.

There is a home treatment that's been drawing quite a bit of accolades and testimonials on forums and other circles on the subject of how to stop excessive sweat. Stop Sweating And Start Living by Mike Ramsey have successfully helped many people to stop excessive sweat. It's a highly effective no-drug hygiene regimen even for those without any particular problem with excessive sweating. Those who have tried it certainly swear by it.
