Everyday we see the government grow more and more with no end in sight. The proponents of massive government use persuasive phrases like: "patriotic to pay taxes," "fighting for the middle class," and "created or saved jobs" to defend such massive growth. It may seem like they are out to help the good guys but this language is a means to their political ends. The more we are given the more enslaved we become, and the power is slowly redistributed to the politicians. The more the government grows the more security we have at the loss of freedom. The answer to shrinking the government is simple, educate the masses and get them involved.
Education has always been a corner stone in societies from the beginning of time. Take away education and knowledge and you get chaos and failure. Without education we become more like animals and less like individuals. There should be less dependence on public school education and more options to choose from. If the public schools are failing than parents can teach and educate their kids. With education so easy to access there is no excuse for lack of education.
The good news is that we can do some thing to stop the growth of this giant monstrous government. Each individual does make a difference if he thinks that he does. If you think you can't make a difference you probably won't. The fact of the matter is that ordinary people do extraordinary things all the time just like "Joe the plumber." He was an ordinary Joe until he realized that he needed to get involved with politics, he did this by attending a rally thrown for President Barack Obama. He used his voice and he became a national spotlight and poster boy for the tea party movement. If you want a smaller government you need to get involved. Education and Action combined, is the antidote to the disease of massive government expansion.
