We all get bored with the way our homes look. We also want our homes and our rooms to have a fresh updated look, especially our bathrooms. Many people like to make their bathrooms look like show pieces. This is a nice idea in theory. But many people can't afford all the expensive trappings that go along with those expensive bathroom models. Yet, with a little bit of planning, a bit of researching and a bit of work, you can make your bathroom look brand new and fresh, while staying on a budget.
First, decide on the new colors you want to use. Colors are everything. You can go with clean colors such as white and brighten it up with a mixture of gold's and blacks. You could also go with soft blues or vibrant yellows or greens. The choice is yours. Once you decide on the colors. Look at the walls. Is it time for a new coat of paint? Remember paint is inexpensive. Yet, it can brighten up any room.
Now how does the floor look? Is it as shiny as it once was? Does it show a lot of wear and tear? You may want to retile it. You may want to consider changing the look with a wood look floor. Have you seen those snap together wood flooring kits? They look like real wood and those who have put them together, say they are really easy.
Next, you need to look at your commode. Is it time to replace it? This doesn't have to be an expensive job, if you can do it yourself. The best thing to do is research that has the best prices before buying.
Of course, you probably won't want to replace your shower and tub. This would be an expensive, not to mention a huge project to start. But you may want to give them a good cleaning. If you have soap build up, you should look for a special cleaner that is made just for this. You should also look at the caulking that surroundings your tub. Has it gotten old looking or moldy? This is easy and inexpensive to remove and replace. Plus, it will brighten the look of the tub a bit. After you give your tub a thorough cleaning, you may want to invest in a new tub mat. This also brightens it up, a bit.
Then it is time to think about your shower curtain. If you have shower doors, you won't need one. But if you are like most people, you are still using shower curtains. Be sure to update by buying a new shower liner and curtain. These of course, should also match the new color scheme of your bathroom.
You can finish your bathroom remodeling, by adding little things such as new floor mats, a new soap dish, a basket to keep your wash clothes, etc. Little touches like these can really make a bathroom stand out and it gives you a chance to display little touches of yourself.
Yes, remodeling your bathroom can be an expensive endeavor. But if you plan right, you can also remodel your bathroom and remodel it to suit you, while staying on a budget.
