Few things are more attractive than confidence. Confidence is attractive when you're looking for a mate and it's attractive when you're looking at a business to join. Nobody wants to be in business with someone who isn't sure of themselves or their business. When you're talking to a prospect in person you have to be as confident as possible. (Or at least you have to SEEM as confident as possible). So how do you project confidence when you're new to your home based business or you haven't had a lot of success yet? Here are a few tips that will help you seem more confident even if you're incredibly nervous.
Don't break eye contact - Confident people are able to look you right in the eye. Nothing screams confidence like a lot of really good eye contact. Also, people who are lying often have a lot of trouble keeping eye contact so that doesn't make you seem too great if you have trouble keeping someones gaze. That doesn't mean that you can never look away. Even super confident people break eye contact from time to time but try to keep it as little as possible.
Speak slowly - When someone gets nervous they tend to speak quickly. It's almost like if they speak fast they can get the awkwardness over with faster. Speak slowly if you want to exude confidence. Think about what you're going to say before you say it and speak slowly without a lot of "um's" and "uh's".
Don't fidget - Sit or stand still, keep your arms in a comfortable and relaxed position and don't fidget. A confident person doesn't mess with their hair or keep moving their hands. Be as still (without being stiff) as you can be and only move around when you have to. If you're in an office chair don't swivel from side to side, all those types of things make you seem less in control and confident.
