It's official.
Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman has been called the most powerful drug kingpin by the US government since he's worth an estimated $1 billion.
Ain't that a shame?
Here is a guy that is smart enough to run a massive (and super profitable) $1 billion dollar-a-year business, and yet the product he sells is something that hurts people?
I'm not here to talk bad about anyone.
Nor do I want to promote anything illegal.
What I do want to show you in today's article are a few reasons why the drug business is so profitable, and how you can use these ideas in a positive way to sell more of the helpful product or service that you offer.
Understand what you'll see in this article is the "con" side of smart marketing that you should then use to do good for society.
Ready?
Here goes:
1. Sell something people want.
Want to know why the drug business is booming, and will always be booming? Because people want drugs. Plain and simple. In economics this means there is strong demand which means the money is right behind it.
That said, have you ever asked yourself if there is a demand for what you sell?
And if you say "yes", then how big is the demand? Do people really want what you sell, or do they kind of want what you offer?
The point I'm trying to make is that the more people want what you sell, the easier time you'll have selling it.
2. Don't try to convince someone to buy from you.
Do you think for a second the average drug dealer tries to convince someone to buy? No way, Jose. They just sit back and let people come to them. And unfortunately, people keep coming and coming and coming.
What's this mean for you?
You should think of ways to get people to come to you, to buy whatever it is you sell, instead of using marketing campaigns that chase people down and come across as needy and desperate.
3. Give em' a sample.
Why do people get hooked on drugs? One reason is because at some point someone gave them a sample which shot their brain to the moon. And in a short time, they wanted more. So they bought more.
How can you sample (or possibly demonstrate) whatever you sell so people can try before they buy? I'm not suggesting you give away your entire product or service for free. I am suggesting you let your prospect nibble so they will buy.
4. Sell something your prospect has to come back for time and time again.
This really is the key to the success in the drug business. Because once people get "hooked" they have to buy more to get their fix.
How can you get people hooked on your product or service? Do you have any backend to your business? If so, what is it? If not, then make sure you have something else you can sell your customers over and over again.
So there you have it.
