In making Aloe Vera juice, you have to prepare certain kitchen tools such as blender or if you want, you could use a food processor, sealed container, knife and spoon. The ingredients that you need are: Aloe Vera gel and Vitamin C or any citrus juice (extracted from a citrus fruit).
1. Gather the tools and ingredients needed. This is a very essential and significant part because by the time when you cut the plant from where it is place, the gel oxidizes very fast so it is important to remove and extract it right away.
*Oxidation is the process wherein the molecules of oxygen found in open air interacts with a certain molecule of a substance (for example, the plant's gel) wherein the loss of electron takes place. This occurs, for example, when you slice a potato, it will change it's color into brown for a few minutes. Similarly, when you bite into an apple, it's color will also darken within a few minutes.
2. Harvest the Aloe Vera plant and get 2-3 leaves from it. Using a paring knife, cut off the plant's spiky edges and rinse thoroughly with water.
3. Slice the Aloe Vera leaf into half or in the middle (from the top of the leaf to the bottom) and scrape the clear gel inside using a spoon.
4. Pour in the gel into the blender or food processor together with any citrus juice like lemon, grapefruit or orange. The citrus juice helps reduce the speed of the oxidation process and also helps in enhancing the taste.
5. Put the solution in a sealed container and put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes or more. It will stay fresh for a week but the natural effects and health benefits are at its best when you consume of it within two days.
6. In a glass of water or any juice, pour in two tablespoons of the blended solution and mix well for you to have a glass of Aloe Vera juice.
