Fennel seeds can also provide bloating relief and have been used as a digestion aid in Indian cultures. The seeds can relieve spasms that can occur in the intestines that may also increase bloating. You can chew of a teaspoon after meals or make a fennel tea by steeping crushed seeds in hot water for 10 minutes letting it cool before drinking. Another popular digestive seed also commonly used in India is the anise seed. With it's characteristic sweet liquorish flavor, it is a common ingredient in many digestive teas which combine herbs such as fennel, ginger, slippery elm and others.
Often overlooked, exercise can help with bloating relief. A brisk walk will work out trapped gas and help move things along your colon as well. This is also why it helps with constipation on the same level. When you take your walk or jog, breath slowly and deeply through your nose and out your mouth. When you take full relaxed breaths your lungs are pushing down on your digestive tract and helping the trapped gas downward and out.
Although there are plenty of things to think about when we approach why we become bloated, I hope you have learned a few easy ways of how to get rid of bloating for temporary relief.
