The world we live in is becoming more and more advanced as new developments in technology occurs. One can now get their hands on any kind of information they so desires with the click of a few buttons and some information they already have. The internet makes a lot of things possible because of the wide range of subjects, the large number of web pages and widespread usage. Finding a persons address using only their phone number is just one of few such advances.
So how do you go about finding an address using only a phone number?
Firstly, with the internet becoming more and more personal since the web 2.0 era, people are either becoming more comfortable giving out their information or becoming more careless (depends on how you look at it.) Lets say you have a number - 555 123 4567 - and you want to find the address of a person.
You can go to any of the search engines, particularly Google and type in the phone number in the search bar. If the number is included on any of the billions of web pages in Google's index, then it will return the results with the phone number in it. Once you click through to the page, you should be able to connect this number with whatever information available there. Hopefully, and more than likely, you should find the name of the person and an address. If you only find the name then its time to do another search, this time using the name so that you can find the address of the person.
At times, in the instance of a classified ad, like on craigslist.org, the person would only leave their number as a contact. Most classified ads have an option to email the person using their email system. You can email the person and ask them for more information about whatever it is they are offering. They will in most cases reply and you will have their email address - another criteria for searching (they may even have their name)
To make things easier, if you do not get any results from you initial Google search, you can the break your number up to see what you do find. Find the area the person has their number registered in by keying in the area code (555 in our example above). You can type "555 area code" into Google and this should give you the area where the person's phone is registered in.
Now its time to search for the number itself as the person may use it without the area code. You would search for, as in the example, "123 4567" and see what comes up. Should you get a result, you now will have some more information to do another search or if you are lucky you will find what you were looking for.
However if you do not find anything at all, then you could use one of the many online services that will do a cell phone number search for a small one time fee. These services are very useful and will give you the name of the person who the phone belongs to, their email address, their residential address (which you were looking for) and their phone service provider.
