The economy is tearing through small businesses like a tornado bulldozing Oklahoma, right?
Small business owners are dropping like flies, right?
The sky is falling and if you don't act fast your small business might be next, right?
WRONG!
Look, I'm not trying to blow smoke in your face and tell you that the economy is honky-dory. That's simply not true. And it would never leave my lips. However, I do want you to know that no matter how bad the economy sours, your small business can thrive.
What gives me the right to say that?
I grew my small business by an average of 28% a year during 2007 to 2010 when the economy was in the tank. So if I can do it, so can you.
What did I do?
Three things to build a sales funnel that would generate leads and then convert those leads into paying customers. It wasn't easy to do. But it can be done because I did it.
Why not take a look at these three small business sales funnel tips:
1. The Top Of The Lead Funnel.
You gotta have a way to bring qualified leads into your small business. In fact, the better your system the more business you'll eventually have. And the less the economy will affect you. So where are the people that'll buy whatever it is you sell? And how can you get them to raise their hand and show interest in your product or service, in order to jump into the top of your sales funnel?
This is not the easiest system to work out. It wasn't for me. It won't be for you. But if you invest some time and money to get this right, the future of your small business will be bright.
2. The Middle Of The Lead Funnel.
Great. So you put a system in place to deliver pre-qualified leads into your sales funnel. Now what? Now you need a sales system that turns these lukewarm leads into hot leads that are ready to buy whatever you sell. Maybe that's some kind of follow up system that warms them up on you and your business. Maybe that's a face to face sales process.
Every business will be a little different here. But you should think of this like the meat and potatoes of your sales funnel.
3. The Bottom Of The Lead Funnel.
This is the money shot. The point where you close the sale. Once again, every closing process will be a little different. But the main idea is to repeat what the prospect gets, and then show them exactly what they need to do to buy from you. Make this step crystal clear and simple.
So there you have it.
The three steps to a sales funnel to give your small business marketing a shot in the arm.
