Traps to being successful on a raw food diet.
With the interest in diets, that supposedly produce fantastic weight loss, and spectacular muscle tone, you would think the market would be saturated with the most successful ways to achieve this, and everybody would be trim, taught, and terrific.
Okay, so you may have noticed there are overweight, unhealthy people out there, still trying to work out the secret to a healthy eating plan, are you one of them?
The most simplest advice out there is to eat fruit, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, and to stay away from processed foods. By observing those principles, you will see a wonderful benefit, with increased vitality and weight loss.
The need to be a vegan or abstain from animal products is not an absolute requirement necessary to be involved in a raw food lifestyle, note, I say lifestyle not diet. If you are looking to investigate a healthy lifestyle, that does not include animal products, what is some of the traps you have to be aware of?
1: Eating a High Fat Diet
This needs to be understood for a successful lifestyle.
- The relationship between fat, carbohydrates, and protein
- How many calories we need in a day
- How much fatty foods it takes to reach the 10-20% limit that is optimum fat intake
- What fatty foods should be consumed?
2: Under-Eating or Not Consuming Enough Calories
Calories being a measure of energy, that enable us to calculate, how much energy is derived from the foods we consume. It is therefore good to understanding components of food that provide calories
Of the three components protein, carbohydrates, and fat, the two main sources are carbohydrates and fat, protein being used mostly for repairing and building tissues.
Raw vegetables are low-caloric foods; they contain very small quantities of fat, or carbohydrates, to meet our needs.
Raw Fats, which include avocados, nuts, and seeds, are good foods when consumed in small quantities.
Unfortunately many people who try to follow a raw-food program are on a starvation diet, as they consume much less calories in a day than they spend. You can be under eating for awhile, to help detox, weight loss, etc, though; it will not be sustainable, as a healthy long term lifestyle.
3: Understanding Food Combining Rules
One of the biggest combinations to avoid is sugar and fat.
Sugar includes fruits, refined sugar, anything sweet.
Fat includes oils, avocados, nuts,
Fat takes a longer time to digest, while sugar digests quickly.
If the two are mixed together without any thought, the consequence will be, the sugar will ferment, gas and bloating will occur.
4: Having a do or die approach
Diet is not everything, getting sufficient sleep, allowing your self to bathe in sunshine. Ensure you have adequate hydration with pure water. Getting regular physical activity, this is vital as the raw food lifestyle is a high energy, active life commitment.
5: Consuming unneeded supplements
If you are not experiencing the results you desire on your raw-food journey, it is time to get a mentor or some better advice, rather than resorting to vitamins in isolate or so called super foods
