How Review Articles Can Be Very Beneficial to Readers

Expert Author Irene Lizarraga

The amount of people using the Internet to research products or services they are interested in purchasing is growing exponentially as more and more households get Internet access.;Review articles are an integral part of this process: An unbiased review of a product or service is very beneficial to readers because it allows them to see if the product is suitable and offers good value for money.

Real User Experiences

Most of the time, the people who write the list of features of a product are not the ones the product is designed for. This means that sometimes a feature that sounds amazing doesn't actually work as intended, or otherwise minor flaws make the entire user experience a disaster, no matter how useful the product would otherwise be. A review written by somebody who actually has used the product can draw attention to this kind of thing, and give the interested reader information that may not be found on the official product description.

Suitability

Reviews are also very beneficial to readers because they can help them decide whether a particular product is suitable for their particular circumstances. For example, the reviewer can draw attention to the fact that using a particular piece of software is difficult unless you have a very big computer screen, or that a product is very noisy, and so not suitable for a small flat. All of this, of course, is often information that the manufacturers don't advertise on their websites.

Product Issues

Alerting other Internet users of potential scams or products that just don't deliver is where review articles can be very beneficial to readers. An objective review gives the reader a clear idea of the flaws and problems with the product, starting with products that don't deliver on their promises, break after a few uses or are of such dubious quality as to be a very expensive waste of money.

A review that is objective and lists both the pros and the cons of a product can be extremely useful for the interested reader. However, it's important to use one's own judgement about the motivation of the reviewer, as some reviews are designed to sell a product or present it on less than flattering ways to benefit a competitor.

Many business owners encourage reviews as part of their small business online marketing plan, as they know that informed customers who know exactly what they are buying are much less likely to be unhappy with the product or return it. Reviews are often part of a larger copywriting for SEO strategy, and can be a good source of valuable links and traffic for any business.
