How Much Money Should You Charge For an eBook?

Expert Author Sophia Loscalzo

When selling your eBook, there is a pricing scheme that you should be aware of. You cannot just price it with any amount that you like. Since you are also into marketing, make it a point to find out the current pricing in the internet marketing at present.

In general, you should price and charge your eBook from $7 to $14 per piece. There are instances where you could charge for more but it is likely because by doing that you might be overpricing your book, which could turn off your potential customers.

While you should keep your price at a reasonable and affordable rate, it would be wrong to price it too low because people will get the idea that there is no value in your book and they will not get anything much from it. This could prompt them to look for other eBooks and end up buying from your competitors instead.

On the other hand, if you overcharge, you will scare people away. Overpricing is a fast way to drive your potential customers away. Therefore, never attempt to put a price that is too high that will make it more difficult to afford and the harder for you to sell. You could end up lowering your price every now and then so that your book will sell, which is not a good marketing strategy.

If you are unsure, check out other eBooks that are more or less similar to yours and find out their price range. From there, you can base our eBook price.
