If you have been in a relationship for a while, as a woman you will want to know where it's heading. Do you have a future together? If that's what you want, how do you get your guy to commit? You know you cannot force somebody to do something against their will but there are ways to get him to do want what you want.

To get him to the point where he wants to commit he must enjoy being with you for a good deal of time at a time. In other words many guys who get used to living alone find it difficult to let someone into their lives for anything more than a brief period at a time. Ok he may have a great weekend with you but could he cope with you being around all the time? This is where your woman's intuition comes into play. You should know instinctively when he wants to have fun, when he wants to be quiet and meditate, or when he just wants to go down to the pub with some mates. Above all else though, you should be having fun a lot of the time when you are out together

In a long term relationship it is essential that there is mutual trust. Each should allow the other their own space as necessary without query or problem. It is great if he knows that you are there for him no matter what. He will appreciate that even if he doesn't show it.

Don't get into the habit of pestering him on the 'phone as most guys are not that keen on long drawn out telephone calls when they could be watching something on the telly. Instead be happy when he does ring, and be enthusiastic if possible about whatever enthuses him. This way you are slowly becoming part of his world and will eventually, become indispensable to him even if he doesn't know it yet.

It is no good at all trying to pressure him into a commitment. This is more likely to push him away. A guy often puts it about that he is not ready to settle down but a lot of this is bravado and a guy will feel the need one day to do just that. There comes the time in a chap's life when the night club doesn't hold quite the appeal that it used to and he would rather settle for a quiet night in with the right companion.

If you feel that you can't wait for ever then you can be assertive without being aggressive. He will not want to lose you so you could try calling his bluff. Point out that neither of you is getting any younger may not sound romantic but the concept that two can live as cheaply as one might hold some sway.Try not to be too offended if he doesn't jump at this opportunity it is simply that men often accept the status quo unless they are pushed, ever so gently in a new direction.

As a woman you will get to understand his personality and become part of his life. You can gain control and make him commit.
