Herpes can be transmitted from one person to another person. Most of herpes cases are caught from the persons who are not either in the outbreak period, or have never ever shown any symptoms of herpes. As no matter the herpes outbreak or not, the herpes virus is exist in the body and it can be contagious.

There are many ways that you can get herpes.

By Kissing. 90% of people who have cold sores do not realize that they are infected, as some of them do not have visible symptoms. Most catch oral herpes from kisses from family/friends when they are very small children, and unluckily 8 out of 10 people are infected.

By sex contact. It is not mean that you will not get herpes with protection when have sex with your partners. It is reported that condoms only offer 40% protection against herpes.

Moreover, 50% genital herpes cases these days are caught through oral sex, not through intercourse sex. If you have made oral sex to your boyfriend and he/they have ever had a cold sore then you could get it this way.

By skin to skin. The herpes can be spread by shedding of the skin. Bleeding ulcers can pass the herpes virus to others.

By other objects. If a condom is used, which only covers the penis, the herpes virus can be left on a condom and survive for some time. Also, the herpes virus can be caught by toughing the objects in washrooms. So washing you hand carefully is useful.

Although it is not easy to identify whether you have herpes or not, but when you have some symptoms, such as pimples, it is suggested to care for it.
