How Did I Lose That Phone Number?

Expert Author Gary P. Thompson

"Where did I put that number!?" "How could I lose that business card?!" "I put that cocktail napkin through the wash?!"

You've probably asked yourself one of these questions, or something similar. But what can you do if you lose a phone number?

The Phone Book?

Good luck with the phone book, it seems like the only people who still use them are local dive businesses and elderly people. The fact is, more people own a cell phone now than have landlines, and since phone books don't contain cell phone numbers, you'll likely hit a dead end fast. And even if the phone number you're looking for is a landline, who knows if it's listed.

Google?

Good luck here too, unless the person who gave you that number is an unwise 13-year-old boy, their number probably won't just pop up. Sure, you could have some luck finding a cell phone number through someone's social media site, but most people know how dangerous and/or bothersome it can be to have your number available online.

Now What?

Well, if you don't have any luck finding someone's cell phone number with the phone book or Google -- no surprise there -- there are ways to find phone numbers that are quick, easy and actually work.

The best way to find a cell phone number, or any number really, is through a public record search. The tool on this site will help you find a number with a name -- simple as that. And because the tool gets information from public records, you know it's current and correct.

Check it out, next time you lose that colleague's card, that beautiful woman's number or that beefy dude's digits, just go online and find a number with a name in moments.
