More and more parents seem to realize lately that children's curtains add a certain decorative element to a room that other room decorations cannot add. Curtains that come in certain designs or patterns help complete the look you want your child's room to have or the look your child wants his or her room to have.
Some of the design ideas for your children's curtains can come from your child and what he or she wants the room to look like or you can create their room around a theme with the curtains adding to the completeness of such a theme. Here are some suggestions you may want to try with your child's window treatment and curtains.
Candy Colored Room. You can make your daughter's room look candy colored with the use of candy colors like licorice red, cotton candy pink and lemon drops yellow for their curtains. You can then go with these same colors and decorate the room with the same shades and buy sheets and throw pillows in the same colors as well.
TV Character Curtains. There are a lot of fabrics these days that now come printed with cartoon characters and TV characters that your children may love. You can have curtains and sheets made from such fabrics and surprise your child with it. There are some sheets and pillow sets that can already be purchased with these designs, too and all you need to do is to come up with the curtains to complement them with.
Hand painted curtains. You can try and make your children's curtains as unique and as special as they want it to be by having them help you paint a plain piece of fabric together. You can go for abstract colorful splashes and blots or you can go for a themed design, depending on what your child wants the curtain to look like. You can ask them for suggestions about this and make it a bonding event for you and your little one. You can even have them tie-die these curtains with you or have one of their favorite drawings printed on these plain bolts of fabric.
