If you are in a situation where your marriage is falling apart, or worse, has already fallen apart, then you need to know how to make things right again. But you are probably asking, "What can I do to get my wife back?" You will need to sit back for a minute and make certain there is a chance, then you can decide what to do. In order to make it work, however, you may need to be prepared to walk away, while hoping all along that doesn't happen.

So, is there a chance? If you didn't think there was, you wouldn't have come here looking for some advice now, would you? Of course not, but what you really need to do is try to analyze it a bit more objectively. How does she react to you when you meet up or speak on the phone? How did she act toward you before you got to this point? Was she angry? Or maybe bitter? Or did she react with indifference? If there was emotion there, she still cares on some level. If she was indifferent, you may be fooling yourself.

Now that you have analyzed your chances, it is time to plan your strategy. First and foremost there is one thing you must be sure you do, or rather that you don't do, and that is, don't panic! Panicky, emotional actions or reactions will do nothing except drive your wife further away. Keep telling yourself, "If I want to get my wife back, I must remain calm, cool and collected."

One strong bit of advice during this time: At all costs, by all means, avoid doing the really stupid things that just cry out desperation. You may feel desperate, but think it through. Instead of making that 2 AM drunk call to here, call a close friend who knows what you're going through and tell him "I want to get my wife back." Desperation is not attractive to anyone, and can ruin a lot of hard work you put into this.

The other thing to remember is that the best thing to do may seem counter intuitive. However, going with your intuition has gotten you here now, and when you stop and think your moves through, you find that these actions which seem opposite to what you wanted to do actually make sense.

One of these counter intuitive things is that you must maintain the attitude that you are prepared to walk away if it does not work. You will of course need to maintain hope, but if you are not prepared to walk away you will again come off as desperate, and you will also find it hard to do the things necessary because you will have no leverage.

So remember, determine if there is really a chance it can work out. Then stay calm, cool and collected, and avoid the things that scream desperation. If you can manage to keep the right attitude, one of hope but willingness to walk away if it can not work, you will find power in yourself and you can stop asking "How can I get my wife back?"
